Definition: Cast steel is a cast alloy, primarily composed of iron and carbon, with a carbon content between 0-2%, specifically used for manufacturing steel castings.
Classification
Classification by Chemical Composition
Cast Carbon Steel: Primarily alloyed with carbon and containing small amounts of other elements. It can be classified into cast low-carbon steel (carbon content less than 0.25%), cast medium-carbon steel (carbon content between 0.25%-0.60%), and cast high-carbon steel (carbon content between 0.6%-3.0%).
Cast Alloy Steel: This can be classified into cast low-alloy steel (total alloying element content less than or equal to 5%), cast medium-alloy steel (total alloying element content between 5%-10%), and cast high-alloy steel (total alloying element content greater than or equal to 10%).
Classification by Application Characteristics
Cast Tool Steel: This can be further divided into cast tool steel and cast die steel.
Cast Special Steel: Includes cast stainless steel, cast heat-resistant steel, cast wear-resistant steel, cast nickel-based alloys, etc.
Engineering and Structural Cast Steel: Divided into cast carbon structural steel and cast alloy structural steel.
